There are a few tools that I use to keep spyware from infecting my computer, my family members' computers, and customers' computers.
First off is the hosts file, this will prevent you from even being able to access alot of the evil spyware servers, if you can't access them, you can't install them.
Then there is SpywareBlaster. This creates registry files which block spyware from being installed, it also has a list of banned sites, and prevents bad sites from using ActiveX.
SpywareGuard on the other hand offers real-time protection against spyware, it scans files and prevents spyware from infecting your system much like a virus scanner.
The Google Toolbar prevents Popups from being displayed on your system. This helps thwart spyware because sometimes spyware can install itself via popups.
Ad-Aware and SpyBot scan your computer and remove spyware much like a virus scanner. Spybot also has the immunize function which helps prevent spyware from being installed.
I recomend that you download, install, and update all of these programs to prevent the Spyware from infecting your system. I would recomend you update/run these programs once a week.
How to prevent Spyware
I hate the google toolbar. I hate the fact that you have to hae a 3rd party program to block pop-up's on IE )until service pack 2 for XP is released officialy. Just use Mozilla and save your self the time and frustration.Neo-Tebow2000 wrote:I have found a problem with the google toolbar..
