New Motherboard Not Booting

Post by Suvorov »

Hey guys, I got another problem. Seems the new motherboard I bought, a Shuttle AN35-N Ultra, will not turn on. I have tried to 2 different PSU's (300W and 250W) and neither worked, as well as 2 different power on switches. I also re-installed the board 3 times, clearing the CMOS via jumpers twice. Is there a device or function within the motherboard that might be keeping it from turning on, or is my motherboard broken?

Did you connect the power correctly?
Are you sure the motherboard is grounded?
Did you blow out your Power Supply?
Try booting from a boot disk

I have tried 2 different PSU's, so I don't think it's blown. Does the computer need a floppy disk drive to operate?

No it dowan't. Have you tried the CPU in another motherboard? It could be the CPU or the RAM. You'll just have to test the different parts in another motherboard.

test the gear in another board to make sure it works

take the new board, lay it on a table, and just plug in the ram, psu, cpu, and video (remember, the psu has 2 plugs which must be plugged in)

try to boot it like that, if it will not boot at all and does not give you and error code, try changing the psu, also try booting with just the psu and see if you get any error beeps

you have to have the cpu fan plugged into the motherboard cpu fan header
