Where can I find out stuff about an IP address, like ISP, etc.; and also, what IP's are safe to dl music from without the RIAA suing me.

Where can I run a whois on an ip. All I can find is stuff for whoises on domain names.

But doesn't the RIAA share files and if you download one of those files they sue you?

Most of the people I have heard of getting caught, got caught because they were sharing files. I would imagine it is possible to get caught downloading something directly from an RIAA hosted machine though

The RIAA does not serve files, they only look for people who serve files.
