IBM Wireless Question

Post by cat81 »

Hi Guys,

I am set to buy 1 of 2 IBM Thinkpads. The only difference is in the integrated wireless. One is: (Std) Intel PRO/Wireless 2200BG

And the other is: (Std) IBM 11b/g Wi-Fi wireless

What is the major difference? My College has a 802 b wireless network, so I need my computer to work with that. There is $250 difference between the 2 computers (the only other difference is 1 has 512 and 1 had 256). Also, do I need any of the following options? (Wireless stuff is all new to me, sorry if I am asking stupid questions)

Ericsson GC82 Edge PC Card[+$249.99 ]
IBM 11a/b/g Wireless CardBus Adapter[+$75.65 ]
IBM 11a/b/g Wireless LAN Mini PCI Adapter[+$84.15 ]
Intel PRO/Wireless 2200BG Mini-PCI Adapter from IBM[+$50.15 ]
Intel PRO/Wireless LAN 2100 3B Mini PCI Adapter[+$56.05 ]
Sierra Wireless 750 AirCard[+$189.05 ]
Sprint PCS Wireless WAN Card[+$170.05 ]

Any help would be awesome! Thanks.
