so i've just installed windows XP home edition on my dad's computer and now the mouse won't respond. i check the device manager and there is no mouse hardware listed nor is there any in the mouse settings.
do i just need to install a driver or something? i'm using a generic microsoft mouse, which usualy work fine if you just plug them in.
thanks in advance!

I dont think you need a driver for your mouse.. It should come with Windows XP

Did you install chipset drivers and service pack 1?
There might be a mouse setting in the BIOS as well, I have seen those :\
