Self Healing CPUs
Well, IBM CPUs will start healing themselves when they get damaged. This could mean immortal CPUs, no matter how much OCing you do. I'm sure AMD and Intel will adopt this feature soon after IBM in order to just compete with each other. However, it does sound nice. No more buying replacements. More here.

Making a CPU requires lasers.
The CPU uses it's electricity as these lasers in order to cut into itself to fix problems. At least that should be the end result. Also, this could be used to upgrade your CPU.
"Tired of your old Pentum 4 1.4GHz, upgrade to the Pentium 4 3.4GHz EE today with the new Upgrade CPUNow from Microsoft. Now it is even faster than ever. You can double your CPU's performance in only 5 minutes. *Purchase of Pentium 4 3.4GHz EE license required."
The only software that it will require is if you "upgrade" your CPU.

Yes. It is possible. And it will most likely happen. AMD and Intel will save big on that along with nVidia, ATI, ect.

No it is not. The lasers do all the work. One section may be down, but you have others that will heal that one section.
