Will a 1.6ghz P4 Willamette(spelling probabbly not right) core be enough to make a media pc out of?

When you say media, media PCs consist of DVD watching, music playing PCs. If that is what you are after, then yes 1.6GHz is more than enough.

My wifes 900mhz T-Bird is an excellent media comp. Our children use it to watch multiple DvD's during the week.

So yes, 1.6 is more than enough power for a "media PC"

not if your wanting media encoding/decoding. It will do it, albeit a bit slow. The willamette P4's weren't that great.

1.6 is fine but I suggest you go upto 2.4 if you have the cash
