It looks like 800MHz DDR2 is just around the corner. Hopefully this will have better performance over the 400MHz DDR with Corsair's XL timings.

No, 800MHz DDR2 is PC2-6400.
You get this because it operates at 6400Mbps or 800MBps or 800MHz.
