AMD, Intel pincount

Post by AmaD »

I'm lead to believe the AMD 64 bit processors use 754pin or 939pin, though I before thought AMD 32 bit processors use 754pin. I think Most intel use 454 / 495 or somthing, but I find the AMD one's the most confusing. Can someone explain or am I completely bonkers? Thanks :)

K7s use Socket 462.

K8s use Socket 754, 939, and 940.

There are the Athlons, Athlon XPs, Athlon MPs, Durons, and Semprons below 3100 for Socket 462.

There are Athlon 64s (except 3500 and 3800) and the Sempron 3100 for Socket 754.

The Athlon 64 3500, 3800, and a FX-53 use Socket 939.

All of the Opterons, the Athlon 64 FX-51 and an Athlon 64 FX-53 use Socket 940.

All DTRs and mobiles use Socket 754.

Intel uses Socket 478 for the Pentium 4 #.#GHz and the Celerons and Socket 775 for the Pentium 4 ###. They also use Socket 603 for Xeon MPs and Socket 604 for Xeon DPs. Also, they use Slot 700 for the Itaniums.
