Problem with AMD temperature!

Post by Racerboy »

I have a AMD Athlon XP 1800+ (1.54GHz)
My temperature is always 52-54 degrees.
I think it should be lower than that.
What do you recommend?

What cooler are you using?
What core is that 1800?
What type of cooling does your case have?

You have a Palomino.
That is your problem.
Since they are built on a 180nm process, they use a lot of energy.
My 1800 is a T-Bred B, built on a 130nm process. Mine only uses ~1.472V.
With my design considered and my overclock considered and my 100% usage considered and the 40F weather outside considered and my Thermalright copper heatsink with an 80mm Thermaltake fan considered and my 3 80mm case fans considered, I have ~43C for my CPU temperature.

Considering your core, heatsink/fan setup, case cooling setup, and outside temperature setup, you are doing just fine.
