AMD Dual Core Opteron Speeds Revealed

Post by Aggressor Prime »

AMD said that their dual core Opterons would be slower than their single core Opterons at their launch, but they didn't say how much. Now we know. According to this article, the mainstream Opterons will start off at 2.2GHz and 2.4GHz per core. This is the same GHz we find in today's fastest Opterons. Before their launch, Opterons would have reached 2.6/2.8GHz along with their desktop counterparts. Therefore, we can expect a quick regain in the AMD64 GHz.
