I have problems with harddrive

I have problems with harddrive

I have windows xp installed and I have some problems
on It. But every time I try reinstall
windows xp on same drive,
Installing program shows that my harddrive
Is In unknown format. but thats not
possible because I have almost working
windows xp. Is there any way to fix this
thing without formatting The harddrive.
I just need to reinstall windows xp on same drive.

No there isnt.. You have to reformat the harddrive to NTFS

Still my windows works almost as normal,
How come That Is possible then

boot into windows, go into my computer, right click on the hard drive, go into properties

tell us what file system you are using, fat32 or ntfs
