Hey guys,
This is wierd. I have an AMD Athlon XP 3200+ but my computer thinks it's a 2500+. System info, dxdiag, and the properties of "My Computer" all say it's a 2500+ (1833Mhz). It seems really weird to me, but I found someone else with this problem here: http://www.computing.net/cpus/wwwboard/forum/9831.html
This can't be good; I want the processor I paid for!
It seems that I have to tweak some BIOS settings to correct the problem, but most of that stuff goes right over my head. Please help me out here.
System specs:
AMD Athlon XP 3200+ Barton core
ASUS A7N8X-E Deluxe
2x512 PC2700 333Mhz Dual channel Kingston Hyper-X
128 MB ASUS Radeon 9600XT
Mobo thinks 3200+ is a 2500+
Okay, I've figured out that it has to be a FSB setting or something. My motherboard (according to ASUS) supports the 400MHz 3200+. My RAM is 333MHz. I don't really mess around in the BIOS so I really need some help here. What should all my timings and FSB and whatever else be set at? I would really appreciate any help.
