Water Radiator Towers Compared

Post by Aggressor Prime »

Water cooling is getting more and more attention today because of the hot CPUs that are coming out and the loud fans that are required to cool them off. But the average water cooler doesn't please everyone. Those 80mm fans are still loud enough to make you lose your concentration. Even if you get a 120mm fan radiator, the noise is still there to haunt you. What you need is a fanless water cooling system. But don't think that a fanless water cooling system will give you the same results as a fanless air cooling system. This is where the radiator towers come in. It is a gigantic radiator in the shape of a tower that is placed outside of your case. The huge size allows for much more heat transfer than a fanless heatsink. There are already 3 different Water Radiator Towers available: Innovatek's Image Thermaltake's Image Zalman's Image

If they are going to build a water tower they designed it to be pretty much a pain. I would design it to maybe hang over the case in a half saddle or whole saddle, and be an inch thick or something, by doing that you still take up space, but if you move the computer around its always there. Having a water tower is just a waste of space in my opinion.

A water tower is designed to take up as much space as possible. That is how you can transfer the heat so completely.
