Networking help :(

Hi im hoping one of you guys can help me! Trying to get a network going but a little stuck. Heres the deal. Im on ADSL (i have to use a username and password to conenct) I have a Wireless broadband router with just a WAN port and 4 RJ45 ports. I have a USB (yes i know!) ADSL modem connected to my main PC, which just has a single RJ11 port which connects to my home phone line, is there anyway i can create a network with this setup? If so how? Thanks if you can help, if not thanks anyway!

It depends what you want to do. If you want to link the computers together to share files as well as a connection to the internet, you need a switch, and all the computers will be connected to this switch. Then the ADSL modem that your phone line goes into will be connected to the internet line in port on the switch. If you are simply wanting to share a connection, you will only need a router to connect to the different computers. see the diagram below. computer................computer..........computer .............\....................|..................../ ...............\..................|................../ .................\................|................/ ..................--(SWITCH or ROUTER)- ..................................| ..................................| .........................(ADSL "modem") ..................................| ..................................| .........................(phone line in) (the periods are there as spacers, otherwise it takes the spaces out) thats how mine is set up to share an internet connection, and it works fine. You will probably have to set them up to work through a router, but thats pretty painless. Let me know how it works

cheers dudes, tried that one...am just having problems gettin the laptop to see the net! Ive set up XP's ICS, the laptop can ping the router and the other PC but the laptop cant see the net. SO need to figure that one out. Ive set my router on 192.168.0.2 as ICS sets the shared Network card with 192.168.0.1, i then set the other card as 192.168.0.3 with the gateway as the router. Ive also set IE on the client, to not search for proxy etc as advised on a site i came across. Any ideas why it cant see the net?
