Spyware/adware help: "Search For" keeps popping up

I somehow aquired a wierd bug that randomly pops up with a "Search For" page. There will also be pop ups warning me that my system is infected with spyware and adware. Please help as i am about to throw my computer out the window.

download, install, update, run: ad-aware and spybot update internet explorer and all other windows components using windows update, this will give you a popup blocker for IE
