computer shutdown

Post by chelfsh9 »

[/b]Quick question: Every day, at least once a day...when my computer is on more than 30 minutes or so, A blue screen pops up and it is full of writing. It says..."If this is the first time you have seen this......" Then talks about hardware not being installed properly (as a possibility). Anyway, at the bottom it says...NOW BEGINNING MEMORY DUMP...can't tell you anymore than that because it scares me so much I just shut down immediatley. Can anyone help?? Thanks in advance! Michelle

shutdown problem

Post by chelfsh9 »

Thank you so much! I did all of that...now, when I ran the last test, there are several problems that were found (86 to be exact) but I'm not sure what to do about them. For example, it says they are High Priority, but I'm afraid to just let a bunch of stuff get deleted! Guess I'll just go ahead and hope for the best. After all, the fact that you told me to run it must mean that you assumed I would need to clean up some things. Okay, well, I'll let you know. Thanks again for your help.

Ok, the memtest86 found 86 problems...but the download I had was only a trial version so I could only delete 6 areas...??? Anyway, of the 86, only 33 were taken care of. Wonder if there is a way to get the whole thing. I found one other site with the download but I didn't understand how to run it. Was saying I needed a 'key' of some kind. Okay, well thanks again for all your help!

http://www.memtest86.com/ that is memtest 86, it is the full version, it does not fix problems, it cannot, it tells you if something is physically wrong with your ram modules if something is physically wrong with your ram modules, you have to either decress their operating speeds or replace them
