monitor black screen

my monitor seems to shutdown when i play nba live 2005. what seems to be the problem? i can still hear the sound and music of the games it just seems to hang up the computer doesn't responds no matter what key i hit on my keyboard i have to restart my computer. my monitor is not connected on my atx power supply. 300watts atx power supply 2 80seagate sata hdd lite-on burner 3egig intel processor 1gig pc400 ddr

Sounds like a driver problem to me, when you try to launch the graphics on NBA, the graphics driver for your GFX card starts to pump in the energy. If it has a poor driver or is corrupt, then it wont get very far. I suggest you update all drivers on your system and install the latest DirectX (i think there up to about 9.0c now). There ya go, see if it works now.

i've already updated my driver and directx 9c still the same problem
