Keyboard falls asleep?

I'll be typing and then my keyboard seems to pause and not register that I am typing for maybe three seconds before it 'wakes' up again. I end up missing a couple words of text before the keyboard comes back on. Any thoughts would be appreciated. I saw another post on this forum about keys not repeating or typing fast enough but that isn'quite the problem- my keyboard will be fine, then just stop registering for a bit. thanks

Try this first press Ctrl Alt Delete and go to Task mannager then Performace. Check you're CPU usage, and you're Physical Memory. How much do you have when this happens? Let us know

My cpu usuage is around 0% with no applications running and my physical memory is 523632 total with about 20900 available and 27300 for system cache. thanks for any help you can offer. It's a really frustrating problem.
