Microsoft Wireless Keyboard Problem

Post by azcowboy »

Hey, I have a problem where keys such as the [Alt] will sometimes give up the key press after I am certain the key is pressed very hard. I can often reproduce this simply by Alt-Tab for window selection and then after some period such as 10-20 seconds it acts as though I let up on the key. This is a new keyboard and I returned it once and the new one has the same symptom. Any ideas? Best regards, Bill

Send it back and tell the company to send ya one that has a cord on it. You'll like it much better

I was having the exact same problem and was able to resolve it pretty easily. I had made the mistake of thinking both of the cables from the receiver had to be plugged into my PC, however after a search on the ms support site i found that all you need to do is plug in the USB cable into your PC and that will operate both the mouse and keyboard. So, in my case, I had the keyboard plugged in with the PS/2 and mouse plugged in with the USB, this was the problem, i simply unplugged the PS/2 and and windows detected the keyboard via the USB cable. so, now i dont have the problem where when i press alt+tab that it 'lets go' of the alt key for me. hope this helps.
