Windows ME problem. Please help....

My PC is running Win ME, and on bootup it says that I need to use SCANREG /FIX at the command prompt. Easy. BUT, I cant get into DOS because after this message is displayed, an add new hardware dialogue box pops up and then my PC freezes. And I can't access DOS by pressing F8 at bootup because its windows ME. I would be very grateful for any ideas on what to do.

ah, no prob. fixed it. Just ran dos from the windows 98 cd. so simple when you've worked it out
