Can't get computer to boot
Can't get computer to boot
Alright, so I had a working system complete with the following:
ASUS A7V8X-X motherboard (award bios)
AMD Athlon XP 2500+
1 gig of PC2700 memory (2x512mb)
ATI Radeon 9200SE
...and some other stuff
Yesterday, I installed a new processor (Athlon XP 2700+) and a new video card (Radeon 9800). In the process of doing so, I took my memory out (2 sticks of 512) to keep them safe and put them into an anti-static bag off to the side. After installing the new processor and video card, I then went ahead and put the memory in; however upon turning on the computer, the motherboard starts to beep at me: 1 long beep that continuously beeps. I took this as to be that I didn't place the memory back in quite right. So, I turned it off, disconnected the power, and reseated the memory sticks only to get the same continuous long beeps again. I tried one memory stick at a time, but still got the same thing.
I'm going to try putting my memory into another computer I have also (building from my older parts, but using the same motherboard) and see if they work there, but my concern is is it more possible my motherboard or my memory is screwed? Any other suggestions on what I can try or look for? Thank you for your help!

Beep Codes
The only AwardBIOS beep code indicates that a video error has occurred and the BIOS cannot initialize the video screen to display any additional information. This beep code consists of a single long beep followed by two short beeps. Any other beeps are probably a RAM (Random Access Memory) problems.
Suggestion put you're computer back the way it was and see if you can boot up, then upgrade one part at a time and check the results.
If I could remember all I have forgotten, I would be a smart man.
