won't boot please help!!! after putting a wireless card in

Post by flipnstuff »

hi, i have a stupid ass PC system that is crapping out on me. here's the specs... MSI K8T-NEO 2 FSR 2 512 Corsair DDR PC3200 ATI RADEON 9800 PRO 160GB WD 40GB GENERIC i'm connected to the network via USB Network Adapter. I recently acquired a PCI wireless card and wanted to make a switch. So i turned off the computer. unplugged the USB and installed the PCI card. i turned it on. doesn't boot. no beeps. everything is running: fans, hd, etc. so i took out the card and replaced the USB and It boots up no problem. so i try to install the card again. this time i left the USB adapter in while i installed the pci card. it doesn't boot. no beeps. everything runs. then i take out the pci card and boot it. it doesn't boot. no beeps. everything runs. i tried clearing CMOS, switching the ram, checking the cables, removed the cpu and heatsink, switching video cards.... what can do as far as the MOBO itself... i've had problems with the mobo and i sent it out to MSI to get it fixed and they returned it and it was fine until this happened. maybe i just got a lemon? goddamn it.... if anyone knows what to do please help me.... thankss..... :x

I have the same mainboard as you do. Included in the kit is a "D-bracket". The MSI manual containes instructions on how to install this and how it works. Its a neat little tool for diagnosing the POST (power on self test). If you dont have one of these, contact MSI and request one. It helped me with some issues conserning the VGA bus. I also noticed that the mainboard came with outdated drivers. MSIs website makes updating the BIOS a snap. Hope this helps.
