Adobe Illustrator Runtime Error

Post by Noodle »

Hi, i'm new here and I have a major problem. My adobe illustrator has a runtime error: runtime error! program: ...trator CS\support files\contents\windows\illustrator.exe this application has requested the runtime to terminate it in an unusual way. Please contact the application's support team for more information. Now, i'm not sure what a runtime error is, but usually it goes away. This time, everytime I try to start illustrator (CS), it errors on me. I read somewhere (when I googled it up for help) about people solving their runtime error problems through Hijackthis, but I had no idea what it was so I stayed away from it. Can someone please help me?

Runtime Error! Illustartor.exe "Unusual way"

Post by eliasds »

I get this error message when starting Adobe Illustrator CS within Creative Suite Standard on Windows XP SP2. Runtime Error! Illustartor.exe This application has requested the Runtime to terminate in an unusual way. Please contact the application's support team for more information. Actually I noticed that several people are having this same issue and I think I narrowed down the problem to one file but does anyone know why that file would make this happen and how to prevent it in the future? The problem seems to be localized in the user profile so first try removing: 1) try just removing the "AIAppResources" file in that folder. -or if that didn't work- 2) delete the folder "Application Data\Adobe\Adobe Illustrator CS2 Settings" in the documents and settings folder for your user account. -or if that didn't work- 3) start a new user profile
