My CD Rom drive is out!

I need some help. My cd and dvd drives won't work. I am able to insert a disk into these drives, but when I go to run them they won't run. On the bottom of my screen there is a red circle with a line through it over my cd-R drive. When I scroll my mouse over it is states "no supported CD-R/CD-RW drive" Does anyone know how to reinstall this on my computer? Or how to fix this problem so I can use my cdr drive? Thanks

1. Does your bios detected ur cd writer? 2. Does the cd writer need 3rd party driver to run? Try check under device manager for the particular cd drive.
