HELP! Computer restarts
Hello everyone,
My comptuer for no apparent reason restarts, If I use my computer with out playing any game or watching any movies or editing any movies it will act normal. The problem is that when I Play a game such as Counter Strike about 10 minuts into the game it restarts my computer or when I am watching a DVD on my computer for a long period of time ie. 30 minuts or less it also restarts, And when i try scanning ym computer for viruses for a long time such as an hour or less it also restarts for NO reason, I am sure I did not press anything. My computer just auto-maticly shuts off, I am running windows XP Pro. I have tryed full scanning my computer came up with no results and tryed spy wear scanner nothing came up, Could this be a computer over load?

This may be related to you're memory. Have you added / changed it? I have seen this happen when two different types are used in a computer. I solved the problem by putting in matched sets. The other possible thin to look at is the power supply, it's better to have a minimum of 350 watts, better to be at 400 +
If I could remember all I have forgotten, I would be a smart man.
Same Problem

I heard that your computer will restart itself if the RAM is bad. I am just guessing because this used to happen to me on my old computer right after I added more RAM. It would only happen while I was playing a demanding game(Half Life 2). My parents use the computer now, and they dont play games so it hasnt happened to them yet. So my guess is that the RAM is bad.
