Internet speed restriction to other PC's on a LAN?

Post by funkdocta »

Hi, I am trying to find software that I can install to the computer that connects straight to the internet to restrict the amount of data the other pc connected via a LAN can use up the internet. I have 576kbps broudband but would like to have restrictions in so that say for example the other PC's can only connect at 128kbps? Is this possible using software of would I need some sort of hardware? Thanks

If you have the system hooked up to a wireless router you can restrict the TX rate in Mps of the wireless clients. I don't know if this is what you are looking for.
If I could remember all I have forgotten, I would be a smart man.

Hi thanks but i'm wired up with a LAN cable and network cards, not wireless. I don't want to restrict the speed in which I can transfere files or data between the PC's but just the internet? Thanks anyway Any ideas anyone?
