Windows ID's correct CPU, but incorrect MHz. Help?

Post by jwalters69 »

Hi All, I have an AMD 3200+ on an ASUS K8V SE Deulxe board. When I boot, I can see during my post the CPU is correctly identified, and is clocked at 2200MHz. However, when I right click 'My Computer' in Windows XP, the CPU is listed correctly as a 3200+ AMD 64, however, the 'speed' is listed as 990 MHz. Any Ideas why? :) Thanks. Edit: Just had an epiphany.... do you think this is because of cool n' quiet?
