Power Problems!
Power Problems!
While on the internet last night my computer lost all power and shut off. Moniter and all other equipment plugged into the powerstrip were still working.
Now the computer wont start when the power button is pressed, yet the green light on the motherboard is still on. When I flip the little black power switch on the back of the power supply off and then on, and then push the power button, the power will come on and the fans will spin for about a 1/2 second and then it will shut off again
Not sure where the source of the problem is and would love some input.
Thanks, Kurt
Mine was like that. I changed PSU from 300W to 450W - problem sorted. I also replaced the following:
PCI slot case cooler.
hard drive twin-fan coolers.
80mm cooling fan.
GigaByte GA-7VTXH 266, 2x256MB PC2100 DDR, Athlon XP 2100+ (266), MSI GF4Ti4600-VTD, Internal 56K Modem, SBLive 5.1, 10/100 NIC.
IDE: 2x20GB HDD, Sony CD-RW & DVD-ROM
JeanTech 400W (+3.3v 28A; +5v 35A; +12v 17A and +3.3v/+5v => 220W & +12v => 17A)
I bought this one; not too sure if it is any good.
JeanTech 400W PSU
+3.3v 28A
+5v 35A
+12v 17A
+3.3v & +5v combined give 220W
+12v gives 204W
After refreshing Windows98se and reinstall all software and applications, the problem just come back!! What a XXXXXX! System freezes whenever I ran programs which had video and sounds. Not too sure what is wrong now
PSU might not be good!
