Any advice? Computer doesnt boot when tv card installed.
Im really stumped on this and i dont know what is happening.
When i put in my winfast tv card the computer will boot but wont do anything. Just a black screen. I take the tv card out and same thing. The only way i can get it back to normal is to reseat my X800, boot the comp and everything is fine. It seems the comp is going through the windows load up because if i push the power button it will eventually turn off. I assumed that if windows wasnt booting at all it would turn off as soon as i hit the power button.
I thought it might be a mobo prob as before it would not boot whatever i did and i had to get a new mobo. Everything worked fine with the new mobo until i put the tv card in. Had to reseat the X800 for anything to come on screen again.
I thought it was a hdd issue and i swaped my main hdd for another and same prob (fresh install of xp on both hdds).
I thought it might be ram, i tried one stick 512mb, 2x512mb, and a stick of 512mb ram not even from my system and still the same issue with the tv card.
Finnally i got a new power supply and yup, same thing. Nothing on screen when tv card is seated.
Any1 got an idea on this one, ive pretty much tried it all.
No but its a good idea. I find it odd tho that it does the same thing on 2 diff mobos tho. Doesnt seem to be a pci slot issue but will give it a try when i am able to.
Forgot to mention also. The tv card itself is fine. I have tested it in another machine and its normal, i even went as far as using my younger brother tv card (same model) and it has the same problem with my comp.
