How do I transfer cassette tape music to my computer as mp3?

Post by simon »

This is very challenging. Does anyone know how to connect cassette tape player to the back of the sound card so that I can copy all my music from just audio cassette type to my computer as mp3 music. Do I need additonal mp3 software? Any ideas? Would I need a Creative Live! Drive for it?

Get a cable with two male ends from radio shack, plug one end into the cassette player headphone jack, and the other end into your sound card's input jack, then use multimedia software to record.

The windows sound recorder will do the trick, then convert it to mp3, but im sure there is some easier way to do this. just try searching it on google.

I went to PC World and got myself this software "Magix Audio Cleaning Lab 2005 deLuxe". Record, restore, burn: MAGIX audio cleaning lab 2005 deLuxe is the perfect tool for sound restoration on the PC. Automatically remove crackles, clicks and rumbling to optimize your LPs, cassettes and MP3s. Perfect sound in a flash. Music as good as new! I connected my Sony Hi-Fi sytem (line-out) to the back of my SB Live! 5.1 sound card (line-in) and installed the software. I was very impressed with the quality of the recordings and makes me a happy man. The process is simple: Import, Cleaning & export. Highly Recommended!
