NERO BURNING

Post by Prakash kumar »

I have installed NERO BURNING 5.5 in my computer for LG CDRW it was running well, but after some times it started throwing a message that "The executable file of nero is corrupt or has been modified by some viruses please reinstal a fresh copy of nero." but after reinstalling it again throws this message (after restarting the computer) and i know that there are no viruses in my computer ...
Please suggest me what should i do ........

hmmmmmmm...........did you deinstall before reinstalling? ..nero uses the registry quite heavily so it may even be worth going through the registry to make sure all nero entries are removed.....reinstalling over an installation may not necessarily rewrite corruptions... You may have a virus that is well hidden...detection software doesn't always detect!......a process monitor may give clues.....search for exe and dll files recently created/check properties....... It may be worth trying nero 6.6......there could be bug in 5.5 related to your system....... Last virus I had(about a year ago) was quite an old one that attached code to the end of all exe files.......this did not stop them running but gave errors for software that checked its own files before running...

And one most important thing to be noted is that i dont face such types of problems with any particular system, but a lot of systems have shown this problem (While I am recently working in a computer maintinence center as a maintainer)

You have definitely got a strange problem there.Have you contacted nero about this? Are you installng from a cd or from a downloaded package from the nero website....there is an update for 5.5 available .Are all the machines you are having a problem with using the same system/software setup? Is there a machine where this problem does not occur? googled for info .only found http://www.techspot.com/vb/topic17853.html which has nero doing strange things with XP after working ok for a while. might be worth looking here http://www.abxzone.com/forums/archive/i ... 9-p-5.html
