Computer Restarts when inserting disc!

Post by Blade_720 »

IT does it randomly.... It restarts right away when inserting "HP DVD Writer Installation, and my XP Disc. When I insert discs with data it restarts in a bit or right away. My Uncle said I need to fix it so it doesnt boot off of my DVD drive or something like that. If anyone could help I would really appreciate it!! :)

IS you're BIOS set to boot from "C" drive or you're "CD" drive?
If I could remember all I have forgotten, I would be a smart man.

When you first turn on you're computer press the delate key. You will then see a screen with different options, go to advanced options. Look at the boot order, it should be hard disk, then CD ROM, then "A" drive for most computers. Make sure you know what you are doing, I wouldn't go changing any other optn, inless you know what you are doing.
