How to choose a replacement motherboard?
My computer is like an old car with all new parts except the transmission is gone! I have all new hardware but an old AOPEN AX6BC-EZ motherboard that no loner recognises the ram and the usb no longer works etc,. I want to relpace it but dont want to buy the wrong size or type. How can you tell waht type of board you need to place in your existing case tower? Any ideas greatly appreciated. Thanks.

The mother board you have is a P2/P3 type, so if wish to upgrade to a P4 you will have to get a new case. The thing you have to decide is what you want to do with the computer, do you just email and go on the internet, do you run applications, do you run games, how fast do you want to be. All good questions that you have to answer first. Yes you can get replacement P3 boards, but why throw money away on outdated equipment. Tell us what you want to do, and we'll give you some recommendations.

If I could remember all I have forgotten, I would be a smart man.
