problem with office 2000 (Word)...corrupted table on Doc.

Post by jeff88 »

I applied for a job and they sent me an e-mail with an attachment that contained a Word doc (application) to fill out and return. When I open this document the following happens: The document opens and looks o.k Then A dialogue box opens with the following: "A table in this document has become corrupted. To recover the contents of the table: select the table and choose Convert Table To Text from the table menu". I select O.K. But in just a few seconds, before I have the chance to do anything I receive another dialogue box telling me that MS Word has encountered a problem and do I want to send an error report to MS. Either one that I select closes Word immediatly! More Info: -I've tried the above many times. -This file was sent from a large corp. -I ran my virus software and (prior to that) reloaded Win xp (I was also having a mouse problem that seems to have been fixed). -How can I "turn off the MS error report feautre. It is preventing me from doing anything on the page! It did, however, refer me to the following temp file that's supposed to be helpful in solving the prob.: VERFILETYPE="0x2" MODULE_TYPE="WIN32" PE_CHECKSUM="0x0" LINKER_VERSION="0x0" UPTO_BIN_FILE_VERSION="9.0.0.2411" UPTO_BIN_PRODUCT_VERSION="9.0.0.2411" LINK_DATE="12/11/1998 22:46:45" UPTO_LINK_DATE="12/11/1998 22:46:45" VER_LANGUAGE="English (United States) [0x409]" /> <MATCHING_FILE NAME="Convert\1033\TRANSMRR.DLL" SIZE="49152" CHECKSUM="0x59E08A65" BIN_FILE_VERSION="9.0.0.2504" BIN_PRODUCT_VERSION="9.0.0.2504" PRODUCT_VERSION="9.0.2504.0" FILE_DESCRIPTION="transmgr" COMPANY_NAME="DataViz, Inc." PRODUCT_NAME="DataViz, Inc. transmrr" FILE_VERSION="9.0" ORIGINAL_FILENAME="transmrr.dll" INTERNAL_NAME="transmrr" LEGAL_COPYRIGHT="Copyright © 1997-1999 by DataViz, Inc." VERFILEDATEHI="0x0" VERFILEDATELO="0x0" VERFILEOS="0x40004" VERFILETYPE="0x2" MODULE_TYPE="WIN32" PE_CHECKSUM="0x0" LINKER_VERSION="0x0" UPTO_BIN_FILE_VERSION="9.0.0.2504" UPTO_BIN_PRODUCT_VERSION="9.0.0.2504" LINK_DATE="01/04/1999 22:50:00" UPTO_LINK_DATE="01/04/1999 22:50:00" VER_LANGUAGE="English (United States) [0x409]" /> Please advise. Thanks. Jeff

Just ask the company to resend the document file, tell them that the one you recieved was bad.
If I could remember all I have forgotten, I would be a smart man.
