Yes, Sony has released a notebook that runs Windows XP with the size of a Pocket PC.
While it may only be 6.6" x 4.3" x 1.04" (W x H x D) with a 5" LCD and weigh only 1.21 lbs, it punches quite a punch.
This Ultra-Portable-Computer (UPC) is powered by Intel's fastest Ultra Low Voltage Pentium M CPU, the Pentium M 733 clocked at 1.1GHz and loaded with 2MB of L2 Cache.
Although I am not an Intel fan, this is the only UPC out there that I can find available. However, AMD will release an UPC chip which will consume <7W by 2006.
This Sony UPC also is powered by Intel's 855GM Integrated Graphics with 64MB Video RAM (shared with Main Memory). These graphics utilize Intel Extreme Graphics 2. In comparison to games, this video technology cannot run 3DMark03 but can run 3DMark2001.
The total main memory count is 512MB clocked at 266MHz (1 x 512MB).
This unit also comes with a 20GB 4200RPM ATA Hard Drive.
With all of this power, the average lifetime of the battery is 3 hours.
The total price is $1,999.99.
