Restarting, and problems while restarting.

Post by pepsiz3 »

I have a computer running windows XP pro, and once in a while (maybe once a day) it will restart out of nowhere. Also, sometimes when restarting, (where i initiate it or not) the conputer seems as though its starting up but the monitor will show nothing, with the light blinking (this also happens sometimes when i start up too). Any help or information greatly appreciated =).

Have you done any overclocking? Update your video drivers.

I run adaware and spybot, and an antivirus, and just ran memtest. Memtest came out fine, and im pretty sure its not a spyware or virus problem as its been going on right after fresh installs of windows. Thanks for the input!

Something else I just noticed --- it seems as though my computer (recently) has started seeing my processor as a 1.09 GHz athlon, when I'm running a athlon xp 2500+...any ideas on why this may have happened? thanks again.
