When Usb Plugs Attack ?
Hi everyone new guy here...
i have a k7vt2 asrock motherboard. running with 256mb ddr pc2100 at 266mhz. well i brought the ddr and placed it on the board, it booted up perfect no problems at all, ran through everything with no hicups.. until i put a usb in. as soon as that happend it shut down with no warning just black screen and start up screen. it wont boot up with usb in....and wont work if i put in usb plug in when windows is loaded up. so everyone heres a good puzzle for you to work out, thanks to all that reply,

Welli suppose knowledge is power, i decided to spend a few hours reading of the net about everything i could on the motherboards and how it basicly works, the on board usb wasdraining the board of power when i pluged in any usb that needed power, the 256mb pc2100 ddr ram wasnt reciving enough power, so i removed my neons and one fan and it worked fine, thats just a temperoy solution. to also help the motherboard recive a steady rate of power a adjusted the jumper on the usb5.3v to usb5.3v(standby). so it only recives the voltage when its really needed, the long term solution is to buy a new psu (power supply unit), the 300watt i am only getting out of my pc is not enough, thats like putting a mini engine in a euro fighter jet, i forgot i nicked my brothers psu when mine went pop, so getting on the phone and ordering a new one, 500watt with fan control speed with see through casing and blue neon it matches the modded case i got, so happy days again... thanks to all that answered, and hope this information helps others....
thank you.. from maddy
