AOMX: RAM Taker

Post by Aggressor Prime »

Well, I was playing Age Of Mythology's Expansion pack with 12 players in single player. After about an hour (in which I had armies from 200 to 300 men), I noticed my game was slowing down. It couldn't have been my CPU or my video card, for they are extremely fast. Then I noticed that straining glare coming from my hard drive light. I went into Windows and sure enough, I was using 1.17GB of RAM. I only had 1GB of RAM so the other 174MB was coming from my hard drive. The game was using a whopping 777MB of my RAM. I think I know what I want for Christmas 2005: a RAM upgrade. I think I might just get 2 1GB PC-3200s and give my 2 512MB PC-3200 to my Athlon 64 2800 system. I guess the RAM standard has moved again. I recommend that gamers focus on getting 1.5GB-2GB of RAM. 2GB should be the safe spot for some time.
