muddy pictures

Hi, new to this forum and an old timer fairly new to computers. I have web cam pics I visit and latley they seem "muddy" (kinda blurry) any ideas? Maybe I worded it wrong-I go to websites with live cams, eg "grand canyon" that shows updated pics from a camera. Latley the pics are terrible. :( anyhelp?

the resolution on your camera is probably too low or it wasnt given enough time to focus what were the lighting conditions when you took the picture was the camera moving while the picture was taken was the subject moving while the picture was taken
