window 2000 professional shuts down

I have a funny problem with win 2k professional. Any time i connect a computer with this OS to out network domain, the computer goes off by telling me that i have 1 minute to save my work and then starts counting downwards. I have installed service pack 4 and still gets this problem. What do i need to do and i don't want to upgrade to XP?
