Wireless LAN

Post by gibbs »

Hi there! This is my first post and also I guess my last hope ;), really hope u guys can help me... I have some slight problems concerning the connectivity of my internet connection via wireles LAN. I have all the neccesary connections and protocols on display, and still, every time i trie to connect the router ( by the way, this one IS working as three other Computers are able to use it) my LAPTOP(arrgh!) tells me that there wouldnt be an active wireless network. I already reseted the whole thing and used what I could find out about the other connections on the computers (IP, Subnetmask, anything) Furthermore I am missing my VPN Adapter since last night... Does anybody have an idea what could be wrong? (I mean any Software problems, if my wireless LAN card isnt working ill have to replace it anyway..) P.s.a few weeks ago, a friend of mine set up a new LAN connection via cable (PC to PC), this one pops up a Window, telling me that its connectivity is limited. Could that have any effect on my Wireless Internet connection? Anyway, I have no idea as u see... so thanks for helping :)

VPN = Virtual Private Network Will you're wireless card work in another computer? Can you connect directly via LAN cabel to you're network? If you card works in another computer I would look at you're firwall settings, try disableing them temp. and see if you can connect.
If I could remember all I have forgotten, I would be a smart man.
