Never-ending applications, please help

OK, so i have this application running on my computer that i know is adware. I have located it on my hard drive, yet i can't delete it because it is in use. When i go to my Windows Task Manager to end the process, it immediatly restarts itself after i end it, which never gives me a chance to delete it. How do i make it so that it stays off for a period of time so i can delete it?
