I cannot rip a dvd/ joining files to be burned

Post by pcprogramer »

I cannot rip a dvd from an original dvd. I just bought a Liteon 16x external double layer DVD+R/DVD-R/DVDrw. I go to rip a dvd and get the message please use correct disc. I am using new memorex 8x dvd-r disc. My OS on my desktop is Windows ME and on my laptop is Windows XP. I have no problem with burning an all ready ripped DVD, it's just the originals I have the problem with. Please help or it's going back to the store. Hypathetically saying, if I was to download a movie from the internet, and it comes in 2 separate files, how can I put them together to burn on a dvd? Are there any websites I can download and burn dvds?
