Laptop cooling

Is there a way to make my pavillion ze 5300 run cooler? Like to me the heat coming off of it is excessive and I cant sit with it on my lap for too long without having to take a shower afterwards. thanks newbie here

They do make small platforms that go under the laptop and use fans to plow out air. You could try using you laptop below its normal speeds, higher speeds mean higher temps.
