Search Engine question.

I've created a site for a friend of mine, but the thing is i can't get google or yahoo to find it. I've submited the URL to them about a week ago. Is it normal i'm waiting this long? And what do i have to put in the source code? Just the <meta tags? Thanks!

With Yahoo you can get lucky and it may only take a week and you will be able to find your exact url, but with Google the average time is 45 days and that is still no guarantee that they will ever update you. If you find a way to do it better, please share! ;-}
