Can't burn CDs
Can't burn CDs
Please help!
I'm having serious problems trying to burn CDs.
I've tried setting the IDE controller between DMA and PIO, reinstalling drivers, reinstalling Nero, forced ASPI, closing down other programs, choosing a slower speed but with no joy.

i had this problem with my GCC-4240N in a compaq presario 1516us just recently, i followed somebody's advice and it worked.
1) set cdrw drive on auto dma.
2) upgraded firmware, i decided to use The Dangerous Brothers' firmware version 0111.

3) defrag.
but still when i try to erase a CDRW using nero 6, i get a write error. I was able to successfully erase using a desktop cdrw drive, LITE-ON COMBO SOHC-4832K and roxio 6. looks like i'm stuck on Multi-word dma mode 2 for the cdrw drive, that might be the problem, i think i remember it was used to set at ultra dma mode 2.
