If you want to get a good google page rank, submit your site to directories.
The two most common directories are <a href="http://dmoz.org/">DMOZ</a> and <a href="http://dir.yahoo.com/">Yahoo</a>
Google spiders/follows these directories often, and as a result listed sites get high traffic and rankings.
The most crucial thing to submitting to directories is that you follow all the rules and have great content. It will usually take a while (at least a month) until your site gets listed, but once it does, you will get a much higher page rank and more visitors.
And remember to submit your page <a href="http://www.google.com/addurl.html">here</a>, but dont spam.
