Internet Connection Wizard Hazard!

Hi, I am a newbie here and I need help! Ever since I uninstalled firefox, everytime I try to use my internet shortcuts and other links, the internet connection wizard appears! No matter how many times I follow through with its directions, it still comes back! I eliminated the spywares but it doesn't seem to work. Anyone who can help me? Thanks in advance!
