I'm interested in learning how other members secure their home networks, especially when multiple devices are connected, including laptops, smartphones, smart TVs, and IoT devices.

A basic router password is not enough to protect every device on a modern home network. There are several ways to improve security, but I'm curious about which measures actually make the biggest difference in practice.

1. Network segmentation
Do you use separate VLANs or different subnets to isolate IoT devices from personal computers and other sensitive devices?

2. Guest Wi-Fi
Is a separate guest network sufficient for visitors, or do you recommend additional firewall rules to prevent access to local devices?

3. DNS filtering
Have you tried DNS-based filtering solutions such as Pi-hole or AdGuard Home to block malicious domains and unwanted traffic?

4. Firewall configuration
Which firewall rules do you consider essential for a typical home network? Do you block all incoming connections by default?

5. Router security
How often do you update your router firmware, and do you use any additional monitoring tools to identify suspicious devices?

I'd particularly appreciate advice from members running pfSense, OPNsense, or other advanced firewall setups.
